Congratulations on your engagement! You may not have visited a bridal boutique before so what should you know? Here are some of our frequently asked questions and answers to help you start out on your bridal journey. Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us, we would be delighted to help you find The One….
Q. How far in advance should I start trying on dresses?
A. In order to give yourself plenty of time we advise you start trying dresses on approximately 12 months before your wedding. New orders generally take up to 16 weeks to arrive and you also need to allow 8 weeks for alterations. However should you have less than 12 months do not panic – some of our designers offer rush orders for an additional fee and some also hold limited stock. We are also able to sell some sample gowns off the peg.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment?
A. We do prefer it if you make an appointment so that we can ensure you have privacy in the boutique and one to one guidance from your bridal consultant. During the week walk-ins are welcome however Saturday’s are strictly appointment only.
Q. How long does the appointment last?
A. Your private appointment will last 90 minutes (unless otherwise stated) during which you will be able to browse all our collections. You will be able to try on gowns of your own choice as well as styles suggested by your consultant. You will receive expert guidance and advice from our friendly and professional team and we aim to help you leave Ivory Promise having found your dream dress.
Q. How many people can I bring with me?
A. We kindly ask that you bring no more than 3 guests with you to your appointment. This will make it easier for you to stay focused and make the correct decision for yourself.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me?
A. No you do not need to bring anything other than yourself and an open mind to your appointment. We advise that you wear neutral coloured underwear and kindly ask that you do not wear fake tan.
Q. When I have found a dress do I pay a deposit?
A. Once you have said YES to your dream dress we then require a 50% deposit in order for us to place your order. The remaining 50% is due 12 weeks after the original date of purchase. If you are purchasing a sale gown we require a 50% deposit and the remaining balance with 4 weeks.
Q. Do you do payment plans?
A. If you need to spread the cost of your dress over a longer period of time we are happy to discuss your requirements and work out a suitable plan.
